Frequently asked questions
Are there special shampoos and conditioners for my pet's needs or condition?
Yes, we offer a wide range of pet safe products that we can tailor to your pet's needs. Please let us know if your pet has any of these conditions: dry skin, allergies, shedding, sensitive skin, itchyness, fungal, yeast, or bacterial skin infections at checkin. We can create a custom skincare routine that works for your pet's needs. We do provide flea baths, but they are an extra service and do cost more.
What should I expect on the day of my appointment?
When you drop off your pet, you and your groomer will have a one on one conversation about the condition of your pet and your preferences on styling. The grooming process will last about 1-2 hours and when your pet is ready to be picked up you will receive a text. We ask that your pet be picked up within 30 minutes of the pickup text being sent or you are subject to charges.
What if I need to cancel?
If cancelation is needed we ask that you contact us within 24 hours of the scheduled groom. Our number is 234-718-0878. We will charge a no call no show fee ($35) on your next appointment if the cancelation isnt within 24 hours.
What form of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, apple pay, cash, venmo, and cashapp. We do not accept checks or zelle.
Can I stay and watch?
No. Besides liability and insurance purposes, pets tend to get excited when their owner is present making it difficult and unsafe to groom. We ask that you wait in your car or at home until the pickup text is recieved.
Does my dog need a shave down if he/she is matted?
Yes, if the matting is beyond simple tangles a complete shavedown is essential to ensuring your dogs safety and their mental wellbeing. Matts tug at the skin and are painful for your dog. Trying to brush out a matted dog is an extremly long and inhumane process, we choose to prioritize humanity over vanity at our salon by shaving instead of brushing.
How often should my long haired dog be brought in for a groom?
4-6 weeks is what we recommend with regular brushing for a longer haircut, or for a shorter haircut 6-8 weeks. With the right brushing routine and tools, your dog only needs to be groomed 6-8 times a year.
If you are unable to brush your dog at least 3 times a week, we do necessitate a shorter length. Matting makes it almost impossible for our tools and longer blades to get through. It's extremely painful for your dog to be brushed out when matting is present.
What if my dog is aggressive, old, or anxious?
We ensure safety and health above all else. If we determine a dog is extremely unsafe to itself or our groomers through agreesive behavior or biting, we may not be the right fit for your pet. Muzzel training at home is a necessity if you want your pet to be groomed with a muzzel. Medication proscribed from a veterinary practitioner may be nessasary for the health and safety of your pet. If we determine the dog is within our capabilities to groom we can absolutely give it our best shot, but there are no guarantees. If your pet is older and has mobility issues, arthritis, is deaf, is blind, or in pain we can absolutely work around your pets needs. however, if we determine a pet to be to old or anxious to undergo the stressful grooming process we have the right to deny services. If a pet is stressed beyond a reasonable threshold during the grooming process we can absolutely work with your pet over a 6-8 week schedule to desensitize and destress them towards the grooming process. The more they get used to it, the more they know what to expect.
